To deter the possums from eating from your garden, plant some trees that will supply the possums with an alternative food source.

Trim back tree branches from fences so they can’t jump around as easily.

Remove any fruit that falls to the ground

Do not act on the issue unless the possum is causing problems.

Do not simply resort to the killing of animals. Assess the extent of the problem and then decide how to deal with it in a humane way.
